Hi Jussing, i can't remember for sure as it was just a one off but i think it was just a simple.3ds export/import. I'm sure though that there was no plugin necessary. I've found that moving poly models (max c4d etc) between poly model software works pretty well with a number of formats. Moving poly models to nurbs software (cad rhino etc) and vice versa produces the ugly triangulation which is unavoidable (i've never tried the plugins that help to avoid this), and in my case, the original model was from archicad which doesn't export great.

Where are you importing your 3ds from? What is in your 3ds file - 3ds content is only 3d stuff, any 2d drawing is ignored. You might also find that exploding your model before you make a 3ds file out of it to export is a better option too in some instances.
