Second note: These instructions are not available in the torrent, as this is not my own torrent. These are my instructions, which I hope will be clearer than the ones provided in the torrent.

EastWest has posted free updates for its Play audio engine software, as well as its Voices of Passion and. EastWest 'Play' Software, Instrument Updates Available.
1) Extract or mount 'VOP Disk 1.toast', located in 'DVD1' (this is actually an ISO) 2) Run 'Voices of Passion Installer x32.msi'. 2.1) Select Custom installation (not typical). 2.2) Make sure all components (Standalone, VST, Authorization Wizard, and Library) are installed entirely ('Install entire feature'). 2.3) Take a note of each directory you set (e.g. Library install folder, VST Install folder, etc.). This is VERY important! 3) Run 'setup.exe' located in '64-bit PACE Drivers'.
4) Extract or mount 'VOP Disk 2.toast', located in 'DVD2' (the above applies here; this is an ISO) 5) Run 'VOP D2.EXE', located in Data 6) Run 'VOP D1.EXE', located in Data, in the first DVD (not the second). When it asks for you to enter the second DVD in, just hit cancel/abort. 7) Go to the main crack directory (crackVOP v2.0Quantum Leap Player Unlock Method Test) 8) Run 'Voices of Passion Installer x32.msi', located in 'SETUP & UPDATES PC only' 9) Copy the contents of 'In-Documents and Settings-All Users-Application Data' to Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication Data. (Sorry if this is incorrect, I do not have an actual windows machine) 10) Copy the contents of 'In-Program Files' to C:Program Files (you might need to add '(x86)', depending on where Voices of Passion was installed). 11) Copy 'TPkd.sys' from 'In-WINDOWS-system32-drivers' to C:WINDOWSsystem32drivers. 12) COPY (not rename. This is important!) 'VOP-Edit-yours.reg( rename-in.reg and clic).txt' to 'VOP-Edit-yours.reg( rename-in.reg and clic).reg'.
13) Open 'VOP-Edit-yours.reg( rename-in.reg and clic).reg' in notepad (or any other plain-text editor). 14) Find 'VOP Library' in the file, and change each path (e.g.
'C:VOP Library') to the path where the Voices of Passion library was installed. For example, if you installed the library to 'C:Program FilesVOP Library', you would replace each instance of 'C:VOP Library' to 'C:Program FilesVOP Library'. 15) Run regedit (Start Menu - Run - regedit.exe). Don't close the text editor though! 16) Find the LAST folder under HKEYUSERS (should start somewhat like 'S-1-5-21-', and then it will contain more digits).
17) In the text editor, find 'HKEYUSERSS-1-5-21'. As I wrote in the previous step, there should be numbers after it (but probably not the same numbers that you saw in 'regedit').
Delete that sequence of numbers, and replace it by the sequence of numbers you saw in 'regedit'. For example, if you saw 'HKEYUSERSS-1-5-3930-1000', you would replace the 'S-1-5-21-205.' Part by the part you saw in 'regedit' (for me, it's 'S-1-5-21-0-0-0-1000'). Repeat this for every instance of the 'HKEYUSERSS-1-5-21.' Sequence, until everything is replaced. Tip: Use 'Replace All'! 18) Save the file 19) Under 'regedit', select Registry - Import Registry File, and navigate to 'VOP-Edit-yours.reg( rename-in.reg and clic).reg' (and click on 'Import').

Reviewing these wildly disparate sound libraries gave me the opportunity to get more familiar with the Play audio engine. The absence of on-screen multiple sound slots gives the erroneous impression that it's a single-instrument player, but in fact one instance of Play can handle multiple instruments operating independently on up to 16 MIDI channels.
To create a multi-channel setup, you load a selection of instruments (choosing the 'Add' option rather than 'Replace'); their names are then listed in the Instrument window, and clicking on one reveals its individual screen display, where you can select the instrument's MIDI channel (which may be set to 'omni') and/or alter its volume, pan, ADSR and effects settings. It's a simple, flexible and effective system that enables you to quickly build complex setups without having to continually look at a cluttered screen. Stormdrum 2 contains 16,000 samples, and I don't even want to think about how long it took to record the countless performances in Gypsy and Voices Of Passion.
There's a sense of devotion about these projects, the long months spent recording and programming seeming to go well beyond the call of duty. As a consequence, each of the three Play titles is an artistic success. Sample libraries don't get much better than these, and any composer with an ear for sound will find much inspirational material in them. EWQL Gypsy, Voices Of Passion & Stormdrum 2 pros. Gypsy's instruments offer plenty of musical and timbral choice within their ethnic niche.
Voices Of Passion is a great source of atmospheric female vocal performances. Stormdrum 2 is imaginative, varied and astonishingly powerful, and its MIDI files are a great bonus for the cinematically minded composer. Cons. While Gypsy covers the popular bases very well, its instrumentation doesn't offer total authenticity for all gypsy-related music. A few phrases in VOP could do with re-tuning to fit concert pitch.
Since everyone will be using Stormdrum 2 on their soundtracks for years to come, there's a danger the samples might become too recognisable! Summary Once again, EWQL demonstrate a knack for filling gaps in the film-composer sound-library market. Anyone with a sense of rhythm will get a kick from Stormdrum 2 — its exciting sound design elevates it into the highest echelon of sample libraries.
